He was home bred and quietly
produced at home by his owner, Jane
Skepper (now Marson), for the Young
Horse Evaluation Series Most Promising
Eventer to take place at Towerlands
on 14th April 2002, where he
won the Eventing section and
qualified for the championships at HOYS

Racing
Soon after he was sent to trainer Mr
Paul Keen at the Conkwell Grange Stud
to race under the ARO rules in Anglo
Arab races.
Orion went into training with Mr Paul
Keane at the Conkwell Grange Stud in
April 2002 after having qualified for
Horse of the Year Show: He ran four
times before having to return to Stud
to prepare for HOYS in October.
His runs included The Easter
Panic International stakes
race at Newbury on 21st July 2002 where
he showed excellent form to be placed
4th in one of the hottest contested
races of the day. From his performance,
he was rated 113 with the top Anglo
being 127. He was also the youngest
Anglo racing under ARO rules. His final
race was at Warwick on the 9th August
competing in The Wildan Handicap
Stakes (2miles) where he was
second beating L'Escalou who beat him
at Newbury.

Orion did exceptionally well being placed
5th of a strongly contested championship
