Heritage Kane
1996 Bay Gelding Reg BHD, BE, BSJA
Kane is
a lovely free moving horse with an excellent natural jump.
He has been brought on slowly and is now jumping clear rounds
in British Novice, Discovery and has been to two horse trials
events. He is bold cross country and performs an elastic test
He is
by a thoroughbred stallion, Matelote Royale, who has produced
both show horses and some show jumpers.
He is out of a mare from a long line of competition horses
many of which have been sold abroad for competition.
This horse has real talent and has the most lovely kind temperament
to go with it.
Kane competed
in his second Intro at Little Donwham on 26th July. He was
the trailblazer of the section and produced an excellent dressage
followed by one SJ and started the class off with a lovely
flowing XC round with no time penalites to finish in 9th.
Our SJ cost us several placings. However, he had been BSJA
jumping the day before and jumped double clears and the temperature
was in the 30s so I can forgive him one fence.
From Little
Downham he competed locally in an Open PC Hunter Trial where
he was 6th and then went to Somerleyton Horse Trials to complete
his first PreNovice and finish 14th. The course was suitably
stiff due to the event also hosting the Eastern Pre Novice
Championships, but he cruised around notching up only 3 time
penalties in an effortless round. His dressage was a little
tense partly due to us ending up starting the section due
to withdrawals and being a bit late arriving and rushed.
Kane has
had a busy time this week; going to Burnham Mkt on thursday
straight after Somerleyton. I changed him back into a nathe
snaffle and he produced a lovely test to finish 3rd after
dressage in his section. He then went on to produce a really
confident XC round well inside the time. Unfortunatly we were
not placed having not jumped clear in the SJ. However, he
has a huge jump and is very careful but now is getting quite
keen and a winter of show jumping will provide him with further
experience for next season.
AT Somerleyton,
Kane was keen and really knew his job. He cruised around a
PreNovice course which is worth of most Novice courses else
where. He is now really confident and ready for a big season
in 2003.
This horse
has a huge amount of scope and is a fantastic ride across
country.
He is
available for people to try if they are seriously interested.
